The Grosvenor Family are no strangers to philanthropy. With a longstanding track record of supporting charitable initiatives throughout their history, they continue to provide long-term sustainable help and opportunities throughout the world.

Lady Edwina Grosvenor, sister of the 7th Duke of Westminster, is a passionate advocate for prison reform and founder and Chair of One Small Thing, an organisation that aims to redesign the justice system.  Her extensive philanthropic work most recently saw the opening of Hope Street in June 2023, a safe space for women to serve their sentences in the community alongside their children.

It therefore gives us great pleasure to announce that Lady Edwina has been appointed Chair of Global Philanthropic’s Advisory Board with immediate effect.

Promoting best practices in philanthropy and providing invaluable advice and mentoring for high-level philanthropists, Lady Edwina will be a pivotal ambassador for the sector on a global stage. Anchoring this important role at a time when our organisation moves to a new era of growth and development, Lady Edwina will be front and centre of worldwide conversations around the needs of philanthropy, current giving trends, and research.

Furthermore, Lady Edwina’s appointment comes as news of our next Talking Philanthropy forum is on the horizon. Started in 2016, we have become a convenor for philanthropists and professionals around the world and the Talking Philanthropy forum is the largest such event globally. We are developing plans for our next event to be hosted in Asia and look forward to Lady Edwina playing an active role at this.

Lady Edwina said: “My motto for life has been ‘your comfort zone is a lovely place, but nothing ever grows there’, and from an early age I witnessed the power of philanthropy to create systemic change for good, particularly during challenging times and situations. I learned not to shy away from the big issues.

I am therefore delighted to take on the role of Chair of Global Philanthropic’s Advisory Board. It gives me a unique opportunity to guide other philanthropists whilst sharing my experiences and knowledge and initiate the development of meaningful philanthropic strategies around the world”.
